Story of Us

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWe were built too quickly. Our hands never even got a chance to blister. We were hot wires twisting; the surges went chaotic, unprotected. It was thrilling at first. The energy awake and the attraction pulsing. Isn’t it hard to resist pulsing? It’s impossible for me. We unpacked our belongings and licked one another’s frames until our tongues grew raw with splinters. Joints buckled under the weight of passion. There were nights we stomped over hardwoods as the neighbors turned up their music to ignore the demolitions. Mornings were spent hung over banisters cradling cups of cold coffee, all apologies.
